How to join CAMRO
Membership runs on the calendar year. Join after 1 October and you are paid through the following year.
Four steps
1. Decide whether to join as a person or as a municipality
If you are the only person doing records work, join as Active. If your municipality has a deputy clerk, an assistant, or a department head who handles licensing, the Municipal membership covers four seats for less than four individuals and does not lapse when someone leaves.
2. Apply
Four questions, below. The office reviews every application; you hear back at the address you give, and once you are approved you sign in with it — a code is emailed, there is no password.
3. Dues
The office sends an invoice once you are approved. Most municipalities need a purchase order, and that does not delay your access.
4. Get on the listserv
The single most useful thing about membership, and it is opt-in. Do it on the confirmation screen; if you miss it, email the office.
Where this happens
Joining, renewing, paying and registering all take place in the member area. You sign in with your email address — a code is sent to it, and there is no password to remember.
Apply to join
Four questions. The office reads every one.
Thank you — the office has your application.
You will hear back at the address you gave. If you are already a member, nothing has changed and you can sign in as usual.
